Meet Jessica, a new kid on the TableCraft block who manages all things digital — including this blog! She comes clean on her real favorite movie, her must-hear podcasts and dream plans with Jordan Catalano and Jane Austen (separately).

What is your name?

Jessica Freundel

What’s your title at TableCraft?

Digital Marketing Manager

What exactly would you say you do here? (hopefully you read that like the guy from Office Space)

I manage all our digital outreach, including social media, the websites and this super-cool blog. I’m also the music DJ in our marketing office, which often means explaining important 80’s bands to our Millennial.

What values do you try to uphold in and out of the office?

I’m an eternal optimist and always try to see the good in all situations.

Favorite part of working at TableCraft?

I’m pretty new to this company, but I already see such a commitment to family — office family and actual family. There are a lot of life-long friendships all around me. ALSO, getting to take home beautiful products to “test” in my kitchen is an awesome perk, too!

What did you do before TableCraft?

I was living in Paris with my family for just over a year before I started here, my husband was on an expat assignment there for his company. Paris housewife is NOT a terrible job. Before that I’ve been a copyeditor, copywriter, and digital project manager for education and entertainment companies (remember AOL?!).

Describe TableCraft in 3 words?

Family. Creative. Customer-focused.

What’s your favorite podcast?

I’m an avid fan of “Armchair Expert” for the celeb (and some expert) Q&As, I listen to “Deliciously Ella” for nutrition and lifestyle advice, and DIY gurus “Young House Love” for house improvement inspiration.

What’s your favorite TV show?

Currently, my family is loving The Mandalorian on Disney+, Single Parents and The Good Place on cable TV (gasp). My husband and I slip away to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel when we can. I’m a diehard Gilmore Girl fan, so anything Amy Sherman-Palladino does is genius.

What’s your favorite movie?

I tell people it’s “Amalie” because I do absolute adore it, but, if I’m being honest, it’s “Ace Venture Pet Detective.” I probably quote it once a day. “Allllllllrightythan!”

What’s your favorite meal?

I could eat pasta any time of the day — plain, with cheese or piled with veggies. Doesn’t matter. I also have no chill around Hershey Kisses, which I prove every year around Christmas. I live off them.

Favorite place you’ve ever traveled to?

We LOVE to travel as a family, especially when we were living in Paris. I was blown away by Barcelona, it’s super cool and historical, the food is amazing, it’s on the beach and it’s very inexpensive. We also love visiting London.

What’s the place you’d most like to travel to?

Greece is high on my list. I’ve also heard great things about Charleston — and the tickets will be cheaper.

If you could meet anyone living or dead, who would it be and why?

Jane Austen. I reread Pride and Prejudice every few years because it’s so funny and sweet. And I’d love to visit that period (early 1800s) in history and have afternoon tea with Jane in her drawing room and just chit-chat about daily events and gossip.

Who was your childhood crush?

I had many but I think Keanu Reeves was the first major crush, followed closely by Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto) from “My So-Called Life.” Gah! I had very detailed plans of meeting, marrying him and moving to Hawaii.

What was your first car?

A rusty Honda Accord we named Pepe. It was a manual.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Be kind, because everyone is carrying around some pain and struggle you’ll never know about. Also, don’t slouch. And moisturize every night. That’s three!

The ‘Meet TableCraft’ series is an employee spotlight that aims to introduce you to our TableCraft family. We’re fortunate to have so many fun and interesting people who bring their considerable talents and expertise to the office each morning. And they each contribute to make our company a great place to work.
